Canada West Foundation’s November 6 celebration in Saskatoon would not have been possible without the generous support of PetroBakken, a new company contributing to the enormous economic success of Saskatchewan. Here’s what PetroBakken had to say about their involvement in the event:

Canada as a nation is stronger with a dynamic and prosperous West. Canada West Foundation’s vision makes sense to us at PetroBakken Energy. The future of the West, and, in particular, the future of Saskatchewan is certainly looking very good. In part, this is due to the efforts of Canada West Foundation, which has worked hard for 40 years to be a strong voice for the people in Canada’s western provinces.

This is one reason why PetroBakken is proud to be sponsoring tonight’s celebration of Canada West Foundation’s new Saskatchewan office at the University of Saskatchewan’s Edwards School of Business.

We are also very pleased to be welcoming Premier Brad Wall as this evening’s keynote speaker. As a voice for Saskatchewan, he has created a very efficient and transparent business environment, especially for companies that are innovative and sustainable. The positive experiences we’ve had in this province, from the field to the boardroom, have reinforced our belief that Saskatchewan has a major role to play in making the West strong and dynamic, both today and into the future.

As for PetroBakken, we combine significant Saskatchewan light oil reserves and production with leading edge technologies that are being continually enhanced and improved in our Saskatchewan field operations. PetroBakken has recently evolved into a key player in Canada’s energy industry, with a greater proportion of our production coming from the world class resource in Saskatchewan’s Bakken play than any other material producer. The positive business environment and exceptional opportunity base ensure that over 85 per cent of PetroBakken’s 2010 capital spending occurs here in Saskatchewan, creating local business growth, new jobs, significant fiscal returns and additional opportunities in the province.
