Dr. Kari Roberts was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Calgary in 1998, where she currently resides. She holds a BA (Honours) and an MA in Political Science from the University of Manitoba and received her PhD from the University of Calgary in 2004. Prior to joining the Canada West Foundation in 2005, Kari taught Political Science at the University of Calgary. Her research and teaching interests included post-Soviet Russian and East European politics, Russia-US relations, and international relations. Since joining the Foundation, Kari has worked on a variety of public policy topics including Canada-US relations, local government, regional governance, urban social issues, generational change, and climate change/energy policy. Kari is also a member of the Board of Directors of Child and Youth Friendly Calgary.
